A preproduction '15 SS 6MT showed up at the San Diego Auto Show. I quite liked it.

Much better looking in person...still on the bland side, but I liked it. I really liked the flat bottom steering wheel. The seats are bolstered, but still very comfortable. The six-speed shifter is a bit notchy but light...so not bad. Center stack has a nice layout. And of course....dat huge trunk!

On paper I think this car has a lot going for it, as it also has Brembos and magnetic shocks for this model year. The 6MT model dodges the $1300 gas guzzler tax, and as we all know GM tends to sell cars well under msrp, so I think the SS 6MT will become quite the bargain.

I'm going to have to test drive one of these..

*Runs to tell my grandfather he bought the wrong Chevy*

If only he'd waited for this instead of buying an Equinox. I can't wait for my cousins to be older. Then the fun cars can return!

A cousin of mine works for GM, and he can get pretty much anything as his company car. I've urged him to get an SS (and maybe give me the keys for a few hours).

I test drove a 2014 SS as soon as they came from Australia. Even with an automatic, I thought it was one of the best performance GM cars I have ever been in and/or driven. I just wish they would market it properly and ramp up production.
